Kėdainiai Old Town is the reason to come. Its streets and squares still show the town's old merchant shape, with Didžioji gatvė leading between religious buildings, museum sites, and the broad Great Market Square.
The interest is not only architectural. Kėdainiai had Lithuanian, Polish, Jewish, German, Russian, and Scottish layers, and that mix gives the centre more texture than many neater Baltic towns.
