MaLonNy Street Art

City-centre mural trail from the Marijampolė-London-New York symposium that changed the town's image.

MaLonNy is the reason Marijampolė now feels worth a deliberate stop. The festival's name joins Marijampolė, London, and New York, and its murals are scattered through the centre rather than confined to a gallery district.

The best-known work is Ray Bartkus's upside-down Floating World, painted to read correctly in the river reflection when the water is calm. Use J. Basanavičiaus Square as a starting point and treat the trail as a slow walk through an otherwise practical city.
