The Parish Church of the Assumption is the principal church of Dingli village, on the small central piazza. The current building dates from 1678, rebuilt over a medieval church when Dingli was elevated to an independent parish from neighbouring Rabat. A modest single-nave Baroque structure of golden limestone, it looks out over the village's olive trees and stone houses.
It is generally open in the morning and around evening services. The interior has the usual gilded altarpieces and silver lamps of Maltese parish churches but is otherwise plain. The feast of Santa Marija on 15 August is the village's main celebration, with brass-band processions and fireworks late into the night.
