Portomaso is a luxury marina development at the northern tip of St Julian's, built around a purpose-built harbour and anchored by the 23-storey Portomaso Business Tower — Malta's tallest building. The marina has berths for large yachts and is surrounded by restaurants, a casino, a Hilton hotel, and upmarket apartments.
The waterfront at Portomaso is pleasant for a walk, with calmer and more expensive restaurants than the Spinola Bay strip. The casino is one of two on Malta (the other is at Dragonara) and open to visitors. The rocky shoreline below the hotel has a lido and gives access to some of the clearer water near St Julian's for swimming and snorkelling.
