Eiktunet is an open-air museum on the wooded hillside west of Gjøvik, with old farm buildings moved here from the surrounding Mjøsa district. It is the best place in town to understand the rural setting that sits behind the lakefront streets.
The walk up is part of the appeal. On a clear day you get wide views back over Gjøvik and Lake Mjøsa, and the museum grounds feel more like a small farm hamlet than a formal attraction.
