Vesterfallet og Vesterøya

Vesterøya is the western peninsula of Sandefjord municipality, a largely residential area that gives way at its southern tip to rocky coastline, small beaches, and inlets popular for swimming and kayaking in summer. Langeby, a sandy beach on the outer coast of the peninsula, is one of the most visited spots in the municipality when the weather is good.

The peninsula is easily reached by bike or car from the town centre and makes a pleasant half-day excursion. The coastal scenery — smooth granite outcrops, small islets, and views across Sandefjordsfjorden — is representative of the Vestfold coast at its best. Local families set up on the rocks throughout summer; outside July and August you are likely to have much of it to yourself.
