The Hurtigruten Museum tells the story of Norway's famous coastal steamer service, which was founded in Stokmarknes in 1893. The museum is spread across three floors and includes one of the original vessels, the MS Finnmarken, preserved in a glass-walled structure next to the main building.
The museum is only a couple of minutes' walk from the Hurtigruten pier — but if you are visiting during a port stop, check your schedule carefully. Delays earlier in the route can shorten your stop in Stokmarknes, and the ship will not wait.
