Julian Fałat's Villa

Painter's retirement home turned intimate art museum

In the village of Bystra Śląska, just outside the city, the villa known as "Fałatówka" was the retirement home of Julian Fałat, once rector of the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. The museum displays his oil paintings and watercolours — self-portraits, family portraits, landscapes from his travels, and hunting scenes — alongside archival material including photographs, letters, and diplomas. It is a quiet, personal museum in a pleasant setting, worth the short trip if you are interested in Polish art.
