Mill Island is the green heart of central Bydgoszcz, tucked between the Brda River and its old mill channel just west of the Old Market. What was once a working mill district is now a compact mix of lawns, footbridges, red-brick buildings, museums, and cafe terraces.
It is the first place to wander in the city. The river views are good in every season, and the island connects naturally to the granaries, Opera Nova, and the small streets of the old centre. Come back in the evening when the water and brick buildings catch the light.
