St Joseph's Sanctuary is one of Kalisz's most important churches and a major Polish centre of devotion to St Joseph. The present brick church has medieval roots, later rebuilding, and a treasury that reflects the city's long religious history.
It stands close to the old centre, so it is easy to include while walking between the market square and the river. Even if you are not following the pilgrimage story, the church helps explain why Kalisz has remained a regional religious centre.
