The Trail of the Eagles' Nests is the long-distance route that gives Ogrodzieniec its wider context. It links a chain of medieval castles and watchtowers across the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, where strongholds were set high on limestone outcrops like nests on a cliff.
You do not need to hike the full trail to feel it here. Short marked paths around Podzamcze connect the castle, open fields and rock formations, making Ogrodzieniec a good taste of the Polish Jura even if you only have a day.
