The Princely Pheasantry (Bażantarnia Książęca) is a late 18th-century neoclassical building about 4 kilometres from the centre of Pszczyna, in the village of Poręba. It was built as part of the von Hochberg estate complex — originally to house the family's pheasant-breeding operation — and is a handsome example of neoclassical architecture set in quiet countryside.
The building is less visited than the main castle, which makes it a worthwhile detour if you want to see the broader scale of the estate that once surrounded Pszczyna. The surrounding parkland is pleasant for a walk, and the building itself can be viewed from the exterior. Opening hours and access to the interior have varied over the years, so it is worth checking locally before making the trip specifically to enter.
