Sanok's skansen is one of the best reasons to travel this far southeast. More than 180 historic wooden buildings have been moved here from the Sanok region and arranged by the communities that built them: Lemko, Boyko, Dolinian, Pogorzanie, Jewish, and small-town Galician.
Give it time. The reconstructed market square, churches, school, workshops, and furnished homes make the museum feel less like a display case and more like a walk through vanished villages.
