Sanok's centre is small enough to wander without a plan. The rynek, side streets, churches, and castle approach give the town a gentle pre-Carpathian feel, especially in the evening after the museum crowds thin out.
It is not a showpiece old town like Krakow or Zamosc. Its value is quieter: a real regional centre with enough surviving fabric to hold the castle, skansen, and Beksinski story together.
