Durowskie Lake gives Wągrowiec its breathing room. The lake sits close to the centre, with paths and green space that make it a good end to a day of churches, museum rooms, and river curiosities.
It is not a reason to cross Poland by itself, but it makes the town more pleasant than a purely historic stop. In warm weather, locals use the shore for easy walks and low-key recreation.
