Wolsztyn's steam locomotive depot is the town's calling card. The complex grew around a late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century roundhouse, turntable, water tower, workshops, and working railway equipment. Its star is the fact that the engines are maintained as operational machines, not just polished exhibits.
Even if you are not a rail specialist, the place has theatre: iron doors, oil, steam, and locomotives that still look capable of leaving the yard. Check current running and opening times before travelling, since the experience changes sharply depending on whether anything is in steam.
