Zamość Cathedral was part of the city founder's programme from the start, not a later monument dropped into the plan. Bernardo Morando designed it in the late 16th century, giving the old city a church that matched its Renaissance ambitions.
The exterior is restrained, but the interior is worth the stop for its proportions, chapels, and sense of being woven into the same planned city as the market square.
