Babia Gora National Park

Beskid national park around Babia Gora, a 1,725-metre summit and UNESCO biosphere reserve.

Babia Gora National Park is why Zawoja belongs on a travel map. The park protects the Babia Gora massif, including Diablak, a 1,725-metre summit that is the highest point in the Western Beskids and one of southern Poland's classic hikes.

The mountain is famous for sudden weather. Start early, carry warm layers even in summer, and take local warnings seriously; the summit can be much colder and windier than the village. On a clear day, the reward is a broad view over the Beskids and toward the Tatras.
