Church of St Clement

Wooden village church from 1888, built in a rare form for this part of Poland.

The Church of St Clement is the valley's strongest built sight: a wooden parish church from 1888 with older roots and a form that stands out among the wooden churches of southern Lesser Poland. It sits in Zawoja Centrum, close to the everyday centre of the village.

Do not come expecting a major monument on the scale of the UNESCO-listed churches elsewhere in Malopolska. Come because it gives the village a local landmark between mountain walks.
