This quiet cloister belonged to a former convent connected with the Igreja da Misericordia, west of the castle. It is a small stop rather than a grand monument, but it helps round out Estremoz beyond the obvious hilltop castle.
Look for the rhythm of the arcades and the way marble appears in modest details. In a town where even ordinary pavements can be marble, the cloister feels like a good pause between the upper town and the Rossio.
