Miradouro do Cerrado das Freiras is one of the easier Sete Cidades viewpoints, set on the road above the crater with a broad look down to the blue and green lakes. It lacks the cliff-edge drama of Boca do Inferno, but it is quick, accessible, and very satisfying in clear weather.
Cloud can erase the view in minutes, so stop when the crater is open rather than saving it for later. It pairs naturally with Vista do Rei and the Mata do Canário area, giving a fuller sense of the volcanic bowl around the village.
