The Côa Museum stands above the meeting of the Côa and Douro rivers, built to look almost like another rock outcrop in the harsh landscape. Inside, it explains the valley's Paleolithic engravings and the arguments that saved them from being flooded by a dam.
It is the best first stop in Foz Côa. The museum gives the outdoor sites context, and most guided visits into the park are arranged through it.
