Dmitrov Kremlin is the town's centrepiece, though its defences are earth rather than stone. The ramparts form a green ring around the old enclosure, with a wooden gate, paths along the banks, and the Assumption Cathedral standing inside.
It is an easy place to linger because the defensive shape is still readable. Walk the ramparts first, then drop into the cathedral area and the museum quarter nearby.
