Leaning Tower of Nevyansk

Eighteenth-century Demidov tower with a visible lean, chiming clock, and acoustic room.

The Leaning Tower is the reason Nevyansk matters to travellers. Built for the Demidov family in the 18th century, it leans just enough to look wrong, rises above the old factory pond, and comes wrapped in stories about archives, laboratories, prisons, lightning rods, and whispered conversations in its acoustic room.

Guided visits explain the machinery, bells, and legends better than a quick look from outside. Even without the stories, the tower is one of the Urals' strangest industrial monuments.
