Barranco de la Maimona is the wilder side of Montanejos, a limestone ravine with sheer walls, rough tracks, and many of the area's climbing routes. Even if you are not climbing, the gorge gives the village its drama and makes a good contrast to the busy bathing pools.
Conditions matter here. After rain the ravine can be awkward or unsafe, so ask locally before treating it as a casual walk.
