Leksand Church is one of Sweden's great rural churches, big enough to hold thousands and old enough to carry traces of Christian use back to the medieval period. Its onion dome gives the shoreline a silhouette you will keep noticing from different parts of town.
The church also anchors the cultural landscape around it: the homestead museum, Hildasholm, and the old routes down to Lake Siljan all sit close by.
