Öregrund is the prettiest coastal stop in the Östhammar area. It grew as an iron-shipping port, then became a seaside resort, and today its harbour is the place to walk, eat, watch guest boats come in, and catch the ferry to Gräsö.
The town is small, with wooden houses, narrow lanes, and a relaxed summer rhythm. It is at its best in good weather, when the water is busy and the evening light hangs over the Baltic.
