Långbryggan is Rättvik's simplest and best-loved sight: a wooden pier built in 1895 as a steamboat landing and now used for strolling, swimming, fishing, and sunset watching. It runs 628 metres into Lake Siljan, far enough to change your view of the town and the surrounding hills.
The walk is worth doing slowly. In summer the shallow water around the pier fills with swimmers; in the evening the lake can turn mirror-still, with the church peninsula and forested shore reflected back at you.
