Viby Village is a preserved cluster of red timber cottages and narrow lanes outside Sigtuna. It gives a compact, attractive sense of rural Uppland before modern suburban edges and commuter towns changed the landscape. The village is modest, but that modesty is exactly the point.
Go slowly and respectfully, since this is not a theme park. The pleasure is in the scale of the buildings, the old road pattern, and the way the village sits in the countryside near one of Sweden's oldest towns. It pairs naturally with Sigtuna's runestones, churches, and lakeside walk.
