Eksjö Museum is the sensible first indoor stop in town. Its exhibitions cover local history, Småland's military past, and the artist Albert Engström, who was born nearby.
It is not a blockbuster museum, but it gives useful context before or after walking the wooden town. On a rainy day, it earns its place.
