Sundsvall's main square — wide, paved in granite, framed by the most decorative of the post-fire buildings, with Carl Milles' winged "Gustav II Adolf" statue in the centre. The Town Hall (Stadshuset), with its neo-Renaissance tower, dominates the east side; the rest of the perimeter is a parade of restaurants, cafés, and the city's main bookshop.
The square hosts a small produce market most weekdays and the city's main events in summer. It's the natural starting point for a walk through Stenstan.
