Fossum Rock Carvings

The Fossum panel is one of the four main rock-carving sites in the Tanum World Heritage area, a few kilometres north-east of Vitlycke. The carvings here are more recent — late Bronze Age, around 800 BC — and the figures are larger, more confident, and more dynamic. A line of armed warriors and a procession of boats dominate the rock.

Fossum is quieter than Vitlycke and you can often have the panel to yourself. There's a small information board and a wooden walkway. No entry fee, open year-round.
