The southern twin of Halleberg, Hunneberg rises to just over 150 metres and offers a more extensive trail network than its partner plateau. The Hunneberg Naturum visitor centre on the western edge of the plateau is a good starting point — it has information on the local wildlife, the geology of the two plateaus, and trail maps for both mountains.
Elk safaris depart from the Naturum in summer and autumn, offering guided evening drives when the animals are most active. Unguided walking is free and the trails are clearly waymarked. The views from the plateau edge over the Lake Vänern plain and across to Halleberg are the best in the area. The Naturum also operates a small café in the summer season.
