Zaehringen Bridge

Zaehringen Bridge spans the Sarine River in Fribourg. The original suspension bridge opened in the 19th century and was replaced in the 1920s by the present concrete bridge.

It is best treated as part of a walk through Fribourg's old lower town. The footpath beneath the roadway and the nearby Bern Gate give good views of the bridge and river valley.
