The lakefront at Yverdon is one of the longest stretches of free public shore on Lake Neuchâtel. The promenade runs east from the marina past the Centre Thermal and on to the Clendy nature reserve, a wetland of reedbeds that is a major bird-watching site.
The town beach (Plage d'Yverdon) is grass and shingle rather than sand, but the water is clean and the lake floor shelves gently — good for families. There is a free outdoor pool next to the beach. The marina rents pedalos and small electric boats by the hour, and on summer evenings the food trucks and pop-up bars along the promenade give the place a genuinely festive feel.
