Khortytsia is the largest island on the Dnipro and the heart of Zaporizhzhia's appeal. Its northern end rises in granite above the river, while the interior holds steppe, woods, ravines, archaeological traces, and the national reserve devoted to the Cossack and pre-Cossack past.
The island is large enough to need time. Come for the views toward DniproHES, but stay for the odd feeling of being in wild country inside an industrial city.
