Belvoir Castle

Belvoir Castle, pronounced "Beaver", stands on a ridge above the Vale of Belvoir, with long views across the Leicestershire countryside. A castle has stood here for almost a thousand years, though the present building is a Gothic Revival stately home rebuilt in the early 19th century after a fire.

The castle remains the seat of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland and is known for richly furnished interiors, art, landscaped grounds, and guided tours. Opening days vary around private events, so check before making the trip from Melton Mowbray.
