Melton Carnegie Museum

Melton Carnegie Museum is a compact local museum in the town's former Carnegie Library. Its strength is that it does not try to be grand: it explains the trades and habits that shaped Melton, including pork pies, Stilton cheese, farming, fox hunting, and the town's place on the Great North Road.

It is a good stop before you wander the centre, because it gives useful context to what could otherwise look like an ordinary market town.
