Natureland Seal Sanctuary

Natureland has been rescuing orphaned and injured seal pups from the Lincolnshire coast since 1965 and remains a working rehabilitation centre as well as a small zoo. Most of the pups recovered each winter are returned to the wild within a few months, but a handful with permanent injuries live out their lives in the pools at the front of the site. Daily seal feedings draw the crowds.

Beyond the seals, there is a small tropical house with butterflies and free-flying birds, a pets corner for younger children, and an aquarium of native rock-pool species. The site is compact and easily covered in two hours. The shop carries a small range of locally written books on the wildlife of the Wash. Closed for several weeks in midwinter; check the dates before travelling.
