Huntingdon Racecourse

National Hunt racecourse just outside Huntingdon, best visited on a jump-racing fixture day.

Huntingdon Racecourse is a small but established National Hunt venue, with jump racing rather than the flat racing more associated with Newmarket. It sits just west of town near Brampton, close enough to be a realistic outing if a meeting falls during your stay. The appeal is not architecture or spectacle on a grand scale, but the very English rhythm of paddock, betting ring, hurdles, and a crowd that knows what it came for.

Check the fixture list before building plans around it, because the racecourse is only a POI when something is on. On race days it is one of the more distinctive things to do around Huntingdon, especially if you have already covered the Cromwell Museum and the riverside. Dress for weather; winter and spring jump meetings can be raw.
