Howard Park and Gardens

Howard Park and Gardens is the most central green space in Letchworth, named for Ebenezer Howard, the garden-city pioneer whose ideas shaped the town. It is a practical park rather than a showpiece, with lawns, paths, play areas, and enough mature planting to soften the town centre.

For visitors, its value is partly symbolic. Letchworth was planned around the belief that greenery should be built into ordinary urban life, and Howard Park is where that argument becomes pleasantly literal.
