Banbury Cross is a quick stop, but it is the town's symbolic landmark. The nursery rhyme "Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross" has carried the name far beyond north Oxfordshire, and the statue of the fine lady nearby makes the connection explicit.
Do not build a trip around it. See it while walking between the town centre, the canal, and the older streets around the market area.
