A small Edwardian park between the town centre and the Thames, just under 6 hectares. Greatfields was laid out in 1923 on what had been allotments, and it keeps the simple geometry of an inter-war public park: a central path, a bandstand site, mature plane trees, and football pitches at the edges.
Quieter and less manicured than Barking Park, it works as a shortcut on foot between the station and the Riverside development to the south. The children's playground was rebuilt in 2018 and is one of the better ones in the borough.
