Butlin's Bognor Regis

Butlin's Bognor Regis is the easternmost of the three surviving Butlin's holiday resorts in the UK, and one of the defining features of the modern town. The camp opened in 1960 on the site of a former wartime RAF station and has been through many transformations since, most recently rebranded as Butlin's Bognor Regis with a heavy emphasis on family entertainment, live music, fairground rides, and all-inclusive short breaks.

Non-guests can't simply wander in, but the resort employs a significant portion of the town's workforce and anchors a chunk of its tourist economy. For a certain style of British family holiday — uncomplicated, entertainment-heavy, no cooking — Butlin's remains exactly what it was designed to be. The resort hosts several themed music weekends throughout the year that draw fans of specific genres (70s acts, indie bands, etc.) from across the country.
