Lizard Lighthouse

Twin-towered lighthouse and maritime landmark above the hazardous waters off Lizard Point.

Lizard Lighthouse marks one of the most important landfalls on the English coast. Its twin towers stand above waters that have long been dangerous to ships rounding the Channel, and the site has carried warning lights in different forms since the eighteenth century.

When the heritage centre is open, it adds keeper stories and maritime context. Even when it is closed, the lighthouse makes a natural stop between the village, Lizard Point, and the coast path.
