The farmers' market is Stroud at its most convincing: cheese, bread, meat, vegetables, hot food, flowers, and people who look as if they actually shop here every week. It runs on Saturdays around Cornhill Market Place and the surrounding streets.
Arrive in the morning, graze as you go, and leave time for the independent shops up the hill. This is one of the few town markets in the Cotswolds that feels like a living habit rather than a visitor display.
