The Taunton Brewhouse — long called The Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre — is a 350-seat theatre and live-music venue on Coal Orchard, beside the River Tone. The programme runs across drama, contemporary dance, comedy, folk and indie music, with an emphasis on small-scale touring work that doesn't get to the bigger Bristol and Bath venues.
The building is unprepossessing from outside — a converted 1970s brewery shop — but the auditorium is intimate and the riverside café-bar is a pleasant spot for a pre-show drink in summer.
