The Strule Arts Centre is the cultural hub of Omagh and the surrounding area, a modern venue beside the Strule river with a 390-seat theatre, a cinema, an exhibition gallery, and a café. The programme covers touring theatre productions, local amateur performances, film screenings, and visual art exhibitions throughout the year.
The building itself, opened in 2007, is worth a look from the outside — it sits well beside the river and represents the town's investment in civic culture after the 1998 bombing. Inside, the main auditorium is a quality venue by any standard. Check the programme on the centre's website if you are spending a night in Omagh — there is usually something on.
