Crickhowell Castle is a fragment rather than a full castle visit, but the remains help anchor the town's medieval story. The surviving earthworks and stonework sit close to the centre, so it is easy to fold them into a wander rather than making a special trip.
Do not expect a major fortress like Caernarfon or Conwy. This is a small-town ruin, useful for context and atmosphere.
