Offa's Dyke Path is the reason many travellers know Knighton at all. The national trail runs for about 177 miles between the Severn estuary and the north Wales coast, tracing parts of the old earthwork and the border country around it.
Knighton sits near the halfway point, which makes even a short walk feel connected to the larger route. From town you can climb quickly into fields and wooded edges, with the sense that the landscape is still organised around an old line of power.
